Welcome doctoral candidate women! Below you will find the forms you need for the Soroptimist Founder Region Fellowship Grant.  We are looking forward to reading about your projects.

Founder Region Fellowship offers grants to women:

  1. enrolled in graduate schools within the boundary of Founder Region

  2. who have advanced to candidacy

  3. are entering into the last year of their doctoral programs

Grant requirements are:

  1. Competition is open to any outstanding graduate woman who is working toward a doctoral degree, preferably in the last year of study but permissibly during the last two years provided she has advanced to candidacy.

  2. International students are encouraged to apply.

  3. Applicant must be enrolled in a graduate school within Founder Region; including the Northern California counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, the State of Hawaii, and the U. S. territories of Guam and The Marianas.

  4. Candidates must submit to the Fellowship President. a completed application with all supporting materials (as described in the application).

  5. Applications must be emailed no later than January 15. The forms are available on this website and/or may be obtained through the dean of the applicant's graduate school or by emailing the Fellowship President.

  6. Candidates considered for final selection must appear for a personal interview on one of the applicable dates below. Candidates abroad on these dates may be accommodated for their interview via live video call or other means. 

  7. March 2-3, 2018 (Hawaii)

  8. March 9-10, 2018 (California)

  9. The awards are announced and formally presented in May at the annual Founder Region Spring Conference: May 4, 2018.
